چکیده

Background: The most typical ocular inflammatory condition is anterior uveitis, which frequently results in a painful red eye. Acute, subacute, or chronic manifestations are possible [1]. Acute uveitis (AAU) can develop as localized infection standalone medical unrelated to any other illness inflammation the body. Most instances of acute unilateral, non-granulomatous do not require an extensive work up because 50% these patients idiopathic [2]. When recurrent, chronic, bilateral, granulomatous, resistant treatment, intermediate, posterior, children under age 15, laboratory testing should be taken into consideration. majority with full workup [3].
Aim Study: Using optical coherence tomography and improved depth imaging, this controlled, selected, cross-sectional investigation evaluated thickness choroidal central foveal tissues uveitis.
Patients Methods: study included 50 eyes from 25 including 5 who had bilateral illness, 20 10 healthy, age-, gender-, refraction-matched controls.
Results: mean 24 years (range 38 years) controls was 22 13 40 years). This conducted on patients: 17 male (68%) 8 females (32%) control participants: males (50%) (50. Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) measured all participants using decimal notation (0.425± 0.213) mildly decreased. All ophthalmological examination, fundus macula OCT imaging assessment sub-foveal thickness, we documented. active scanned displayed cell densities ranging +1 +3 chamber. underwent spectral domain-OCT enhanced discovered that increase affected eye and, lesser extent, appears compared completely normal people.
Conclusion: Comparing fellow patients, both rise markedly.

Analysis of choroidal and central foveal thicknesses in acute anterior uveitis by enhanced-depth imaging optical coherence tomography

BACKGROUND Currently, there are a limited number of reports of structural changes in the retina and choroid in acute anterior uveitis (AAU). The aim of this study was to evaluate choroidal and central foveal thicknesses during episodes of AAU. METHODS The medical records of 120 patients with AAU and 120 healthy subjects matched for age, sex, and spherical equivalent of refractive error were r...

Comparison of Choroidal Thickness in Psoriasis and Control Groups Using Optical Coherence Tomography

Background and Objective: One of the most common extracutaneous complications in psoriasis patients is ocular complications, which is controversial concerning its effect on choroidal thickness. This study aimed to compare the psoriasis patients with healthy individuals in terms of the thickness of the choroidal layer using the optical coherence tomography technique. Materials and Methods: In t...

Retinal and choroidal thickness measurements using spectral domain optical coherence tomography in anterior and intermediate uveitis

BACKGROUND Macular edema is a common cause of visual loss at uveitic patients. The aim of our study was to investigate retinal and choroidal thickness at the macula in anterior (AU) and intermediate (IMU) uveitis and in healthy individuals using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). METHODS Case-control study of 21 patients with AU and 23 patients with IMU and 34 age-matched ...

Mapping Retinal and Choroidal Thickness in Unilateral Nongranulomatous Acute Anterior Uveitis Using Three-Dimensional 1060-nm Optical Coherence Tomography.

Purpose To analyze retinal thickness (RT) and choroidal thickness (ChT) changes in patients with unilateral nongranulomatous acute anterior uveitis (AAU) using three-dimensional (3D) 1060-nm optical coherence tomography (OCT). Methods Retinal and choroidal thickness maps were statistically analyzed for 24 patients with newly diagnosed unilateral AAU before therapy. A total of 17 patients were...

Anterior segment optical coherence tomography in acute anterior uveitis.

PURPOSE To analyze the corneal thickness and anterior chamber (AC) angle using anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) in patients with acute anterior uveitis (AAU). METHODS Twenty two patients (24 eyes) were included. All patients underwent complete ophthalmological examination, applanation tonometry and AS-OCT at diagnosis and fifteen days after treatment. RESULTS Average c...
